Default Anyone NOT like 12.5" Wild 1 apes

I decided to bite the bullet and order a set of Wild 1 wo577b 12.5" apes. I have heard lots of good things about them, but was wondering if anyone put them on and then regretted it, or disliked them for some reason.

Thanks.

They're too short. I would not have been pleased changing from 10.5" FXRP bars over to 12.5"-ers on the FLHRI. 18"-ers would mean windshield cutouts, so 16" made sense as it kept my arms no higher than shoulder level for comfort and no changes to the windshield profile.

No regrets! I'm 6'0" tall and puts my arms at heart level and elbows with a comfortable bend. Make sure you get all the cables a +6.

I am 5"11" with a 34/35 sleeve length. I hope that these will get rid of the pain I am getting on longer rides between my shoulder blades. Currently I am running Wild 1 575 (10"), but they are just a bit too short. I currently have a +4 clutch, do you think I'll need to swap that out for +6?

I wouldn't change it to +6 until you see what it's like after you install the bars. I would think your +4 would work depending how you routed the cable thru the inner fairing.

Just got to find a brake cable for my ABS. Don't want braided, but one that looks stock. Have to hit my local HD dealer and see if they sell OEM +6 brake lines.

i wish Wild 1 made a 10" bar in a style like the 577s... i know 575s are 10" but they have a totally diffferent look...
i'm looking for bars that are a bit higher but NOT over the fairing...10" would be just about perfect..plus i'm only 5'7" so i don't need em THAT high... I really like the Black finsh WILD 1 uses too....

you listening WILD 1? can you make me some 577s...just 2" shorter???

Default Delivery Tomorrow

I also bit the bullet, ordered the 577's last week, will arrive here tomorrow. I went ahead and ordered a +6 clutch cable, and the complete wiring extension kit and TBW ext from Namz. I'm 5-10 and have wide shoulders and arms. I measured it all out before deciding and think these will be just right..

You should have taken the $$$ you used on the wire extensions and bought a +6 brake line. Your waisting your $$$ on wire extensions, especially for the TBW because even with the higher bars, the TBW plug sits in the stock location. It's the plugs for the hand controls that need to be moved a bit and even that is better than extending the wires.
