Default Backrest insulators for the passenger backrest on a tourpack

Hello all.
The outer insulators for the passenger backrest on my tourpack sheared.

How do I get the old one out?
I removed the backrest from the tourpack.
I removed the staples so I can see behind the seat material. It should just screw out but the original part sheared and there is not a good surface to grip on. The only thing I can think of is to drill through the rubber and into the stud and use an easy out to back the stud out. The insulator is part number 5 in the attachment

I hope someone here has an easier way.
Thanks
