Most any tender with a two pole flat pigtail will work

it's not something that you need but when your storing the bike or it just sits for a long period of time it does help the battery last longer keeping it charged and it's nice to have when you get ready for a ride the bike fire's right up. basically it's cheap maintenance on your battery.

No. You do not need a HD tender. Any tender will work.
