How to replace rear shocks rubber gaiters/gators
Those rubber protections of the rear shocks have been worn out and cracked in some places.
I am looking on the net a way to replace them. Does anyone have an idea how to do that? I noticed that HD has no different part number for them and because of that I assume that can not be replace as a separate part but as an entire assembly. Do you have a better idea but to change both shocks?
Thanks!
The bike is a 2002 FLHRI with stock air shocks.

I have seen a thread in here about an alternative source of gaiters that will fit, however to be blunt you can buy secondhand shocks cheap, because some owners like to swap long stock shocks for shorter SG ones. So save yourself time and trouble, just take a look in the Classifieds for a pair of 2011 going for $130, or pop on Ebay where there is a 2006 set for $60! I'd buy the newer ones......

Oreillys has what appears to be the same kit for about the same price. When I did mine, I found that the bottom would not seal well on the rectangular shaped attachment on the shock. My solution was to leave the old boot in place with 3 or 4 overlapped folds into the new boot and trim the top on the new boot to proper length. There is a shallow channel around the bottom of the reservoir which will hold the cable tied top in position. With the saddle bags in place, it is an invisible shade tree fix for a very reasonable price.
