Default Saddle Bag fillers for 07 Ultra

Anyone got any ideas. Neither HD or Kuryakyn has a solution. The saddle bag rails are the problem.

HD used to sell a slotted one. I think I see it in an old catalogue.

Are you talking about the rectangle rails that go up and own the fender? They have 3 nuts and 4th slot in them?

Mine has that and I still put a streetglide rear fascia on it.

Perhaps it's HD's fitment description that causes the confusion, but the "solid" saddlebag filler strips fit '93-'08 Ultras and other models. See page 382 of the paper catalog, and page 383 for the color-matched part no. for your bike.

The solid won't accommodate the decorative rails around the saddle bags and the HD are for damn near every model but the 07. : ( thanks anyway

You are correct. I checked all the way back to the 2007 HD catalog and could not find the slotted in color match at all. The only offering from HD is the chrome model which is part number 45896-98, on page 382 of 2011 HD catalog.

Sorry I couldnt help.

I think I saw it in the 2006 catalog. But I don't have that one anymore.

Here's a link to HD's installation instructions for the filler strips:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J01174.pdf

If you have the two chrome rails that wrap around the saddlebags, you'll see a picture of the installation on that set-up in the above instructions. I used the chrome solid filler strips on my '04 EG before I installed the SG rear fender and fascia. My buddy currently has solid fire red pearl filler strips on is '06 EG Classic which has the same rear fender/struts/etc. as any EG through '08 model year.

Here's a link to HD's website catalog. Look for your color/model year:

If you look at page 383, you'll find a column titled "C. Saddlebag Filler Strip - Solid. '93-'08" under which a long list of color-matched filler strips are listed.

Granted HD could do a better job on page 382 when they list, under "C. Color-Matched Saddlebag Filler Strip Kits" for '93-'08. p/n's for "Primed" and "Chrome," but then state "see matrix" for "Color-Matched," it would be better if they said "See page 383, top right column" so readers aren't confused about what a "matrix" is.

With the installation instructions verifying that the solid filler strips fit '93-'08 Electra Glides with the wrap around guard rails, and with the paper catalog and website information for color-matching, hopefully you guys can find what you want for your bikes.

This an area that many find confusing.
The double rails on the Ultra prevent any filler strips from being installed. Either remove the rails or get the nostalgic rails or perhaps you can modify the slotted ones and make them work. Otherwise, I don't believe there are any stock fillers that work with double rails.
