Question Who Makes the Best Performance Exhaust

I have a friend just bought a 2003 Ultra Classic. He wants to know what people feel is the best performance exhaust. He wants true duals. I have Rineharts and like them. But what do people think is the best. Not worried as much about price as performance.

Thanks

YEP! thats what I'm getting on my 2001 Ultra and as far as performance (from what I have investigated) they are #1 .

The D&D mentioned is supposed to perform very well but I like the sound of my Thunderheader better. To me it sounds throatier and deeper than the Fatcat. They both perform good and both are available with a ghostpipe.

If he wants the true duals and is pretty much doing a stage 1, SuperTrapp SE's put out some pretty good numbers. Plus sound good.

No one best exhaust. The performance of any exhaust is gonna be dependant on the tune. Fatcat, V&H Propipe, Rinehart TDs, Bub 7s all work well. Geberally speaking, a good 2-1 will enhance low rpm torque, and a good TD system will return higher peak numbers.

The 2-1 may give you better performance but, will never sound like true duals, IMO. I have the Rinehart TD's also from when they were built by Bub with the steped header design and feel they perform well! Not sure how the new design/build quality is though.

Not sure about dyno test results (which would also depend on Air intake and Ecm remap or piggyback add on ) but I tend to like all the Vance & Hines products.
I run the Big Shots Staggered Black version. They sound awesome.
They came on my bike when I bought it, but I think they run around $650 or up for price. I have the old SE dealer map download and the SE air intake.
Runs pretty good but saving for a TTS mastertune.

Exactly...and this could be argued all day. I use V&Hs on all my bikes just cuz. They get me down the road just fine and sound just fine and they look just fine. If there's a difference between my well tuned bike and another it would be so little a difference that I wouldn't notice it.

for my application, it's gotta be the v&h 2 into 1 pro pipe. i've had several different types of exhausts on my past few harleys, but the current v&h pro pipe has to be the best i've had. great performance and the sound is incredibly sweeeet.
