Default Road Glide fairing lowers

I posted a thread a while ago asking about fairing lowers, so now I'm getting back to looking for a set and realize I didn't specify that I want a set for my '08 FLTR. There are plenty available for electra glides and streetglides, but not so for road glides.

Has anyone bought aftermarket lowers for their fltr? I just got back from the stealer, they want $850 for the set plus another $500 for the glove boxs. There's got to be a better way.

If you get the 2010 main fairing brackets that lift the back a little,for your Road Glide you can mount the vented lowers from any Ultra Classic.Otherwise your lowers choices are limited.

When I was looking for the lowers, I did not find many options. The only thing I found were:

Hogg Chopps
OEM from dealer
OEM off Ebay

I did not locate any other aftermarket lowers for the pre-'10 RG's.

I managed to pick up a set of color matched off Ebay for $250 (no glove boxes). You may have to watch for a week or two before you find a deal.

There have been some good reviews on the Hogg Chopps, I just did not care for the look.

In the process of adding HD lowers to my 09 RG. I just installed the 2010 brackets yesterday so I could use the vented fairings.I got them from LSHD1;

1 58530-10 MTG BRACKET,FRNG @ $60.16
1 58454-10 MOUNT,LH/FRNG-LWR @ $39.44
1 58460-10 MOUNT,RH/FRNG-LWR @ $39.44 $139.04 + $9.99 shipping

Just ordered the fairings,58854-08xxx, today from LSHD1 for $529 shipped.

I live near Hogg Chopps and wanted to go that way, but you can't get glove boxes for RG versions.

Ok, just so I understand. The 2010 bracket raises the back of the fairing. But its still sitting on the front mount.do it must be tilted a bit? If so the headlight will need to be aligned and it will change the angle of the windshield. I wouldn't want to effect the aero dynamics of it. I'm happy with the way it is. I'm worried about screwing it up.
