Default Windshields

I'm looking into windshields and wondering what are some good brands? Are the shaped ones any good or are the just a gimmick? I am thinking I want to go about 5-6 inches from the top of the fairing and a dark tint. Thanks in advance.

Clark's has the best custom windshields I've found. Great prices, and they will custom make it to your specs (size and tint). Great personal service, always hand sign thank yous, quick to answer questions, and are riders as well.

LRS - X-Stream 8" dark, cost me $85 shipped and at 6 ft even it makes my SG a different bike turbulence-wise! Good luck in your search..

Check out National Cycle. I purchased a polycarbonate windshield for my older bike and had some problems with fitment. They were very courteous and promptly shipped me a new one that fit perfect. The windshield is of very high quality and was priced right. My experience with them was very good.

Just got a LongRide 10" ultra curve in medium tint.
Color is a near match for the fairing wings.
I've found the protection is the same as the stock one even though it's 3" shorter.

Quality seems solid. It is hardened acrylic though and not lexan. Seems most aftermarket aren't lexan.

I am not sure about the other materials, but a cut down H-D Lexan took an apple sized rock at highway speeds that would have made me look like a 70's hockey player. Just a little scuff mark.

I let the other guys pay big money for the "custom" aftermarket products- I buy their take off H-D shields cheap and cut them down to meet my requirements.

the BOTTOM edge of the shield is easily cut with a rotozip ( that way you have a nice factory edge displayed)

I have a number of seats which all put me at a different height, so have windshields at stock, -2", -3", -4" heights.

no tint on any of them, If I gotta tuck in out of the rain at night I don't want to be looking through tint
