Default Flush mount gas cap and fuel guage

Anyone installed the flush mount gas and fuel guage set? Just wondering if there's been any trouble with the fuel cap not popping up after some time? I'm thinking of snarfing it up pretty soon.

my cap stopped popping up had to very carefully turn it and then pull it up manually.then the whole cap needed to be taken apart and re assembled. you need to not tighten it down to much or you will have problems i replaced mine and have just watched how much i tighten it.have not had any more issues since then.

There have been quite a few riders on this forum that have had problems with it. Mine fell apart at a gas station and I put it back together and it worked fine for another year more or less. Then it would not pop open. I found out I could open it with my credit card but bought a replacement cap. The replacement fill cap is about $65 as I recall so take good care of yours.

I think my problem and that of most who had a problem is that we were tightening the cap down too tight. Now I just turn it until it catches (stops) and push it down. It does not line up perfectly flat all around and that is why I was tightening it too much. I think that will solve the problem. They do look very sweet.
