It's cheaper to get the power pack now vs. upgrade 96 later...if you can affort it - do the upgrade.

There's no substitute for cubic inches...except cubic dollars! But seriously, I love my PowerPak Streetglide torque when cruising up my southeastern Ohio hills but I really like the security of the ABS even more. We alllike to think we are experts in handling our bikes, but as much as I try to practice emergency stops & maneuvers,I'm still no Nicky Hayden and that ABS brakes better in an emergency situation than I do.

Save the 2 grand and spend it on a FuelMoto 107 kit and crankwork. Then you'll have a motor that can take hard riding and run circles around a factory 103.

i went with the power pack on my 11 SG as well... figured if i was spending a rediculous amount of money anyway, why not go all the way! No regrets here.

+1 on getting the 103 if you can afford it. That's what I'm doing. I'm going to Stage 1 it, until the 2yr manufacturer warranty is over. Then I'm giong to upgrade to a Stage 2 with wood cams.

Agreed! To the OP, if you truely don't care about the ABS and security, you could do a lot to a 96" with that two grand. You can always buy the 103" kit afterwards with CAMS OF YOUR CHOICE, and be into it for less than two grand, or you could go the above route and have Jamie install his 107" kit with Woods 555 cams, and it will be right at 2 K including a dynotune, and it will outrun the stock 103" that you'd be buying from the factory for the same money (which is what I'm doing).

the factory 103's with the low compression and cams is a pretty lame setup. now add some compression, cams, and a sepst on a big bore 96 which would make it a 103 is a very gratifying experience indeed. why pay twice to get the work done. get it as a 96, save up and get the 103 built to where it'll really run rather than the lame stocker.

Ridden both 96 and 103. I wouldn't even buy a touring bike now if it didn't have the 103 option. It's definitely better and worth it IMO.

If I were to buy a 2011 I would DEFINITELY get the 103 power package.
