Default Stock compensator

Bottom line is that its not to good when it is new. One of your first items replaced probably should be it. When modifying the engine even more so.

I guess in all the threads I have read however I did not pick up on the low rpm driveline slack as a symptom. I thought it was just the nature of the HD drivetrain.

Unfortunately now I will have to re-think my sit back and wait approach.
I've noticed the drive line slack on my 08. My 98 showed it a couple of times right before having it serviced and went away afterwards. I figured they adjusted the belt? The 08 still has it after having it serviced.

I have the start up bang also. My brother has it too. I noticed his when he bought it new so never thought about mine, being used. Seems like all of the newer bikes I hear start have the bang.

If I change out the compensator, will I need to re-dyno?
