Default Interest Rate on New 2011 Bike?

My dealer here in Conway Arkansas says the best interest rate they can do is 8.99%. I see guys all over this forum getting way lower. What gives? My credit is excellent. Is this normal for a 4 and 5 yr term right now? I asked about a 3yr term and they said it wouldn't change much. Is the interest rates dealer driven? or Harley MOCO driven? Anyone know of dealers near me offering lower? I really want to do business locally, but not if I'm getting killed on the interest.
BTW my bank is offering 8.25% 3, 4, 5yr terms. so not much better.

If you have good credit and cannot get rates in the 4's or lower, your simply paying too much. Go to a local credit union if need be. Just my .02, but in todays time, there is no way I would consider your current offer. Good luck.

They're gonna hose you at the dealer regardless of your credit score. Go to a local credit union if you have one.

I got 6.99 thru HD. Your dealer is probably adding a couple of percent to the loan.. I'd tell them lower interest or no bike OR as mentioned go to a credit union....

Got this email today from one of the local dealers. Maybe you can use this info to negotiate a better rate??

I've never done business with a credit union. I'm assuming they want membership before they loan to you? Something i'm not opposed to. just not had much experience with credit unions.

It's usually opening a free savings or checking account with a small fee for joining ($25 or so). You will save alot for the little effort it takes. The guy who I traded my bike for got 4.X% on a used bike.
