Default How long for a dyno tune??

How long does it typically take to properly tune a bike on a dyno?

Mine took a solid hour. But already had an existing map. I changed air cleaners and the bike was 3 yrs old and broke in good.

What was the ballpark cost for that 4 hour block? I'm close to Doc and need to budget some funds

It took 100 miles and 3 plus hours. I dont know if the 100 miles was all on the dyno or not...Yes i said a 100 miles...They put about the same on my sons Dyna as far as miles.

Default I guess that depends

on who is doing the tune and if they know what they are doing. I've had several dyno tunes done. One on a mustang gt and the other my 2004 fatboy. The mustang was in the shop for a week or so and it took 35 pulls to get it dialed in. My fatty was in the shop for about 10 days. It took 33 pulls but out of those ten days I was told only three were spent tuning. The tuner would not tune if the humidity was too high. You have to tune each block in the maps and that takes time. In my opinion, I'd stay away from someone who claims they can do a proper tune in a few hours, however there are exceptions to every rule. The results from both tunes were excellent.

Anywhere from 3-5 hours can be normal....but good tuners have lots of maps already and depending on your build you have, they should have a map that is already close and they can adjust it as needed and it might only take 1-2 hours. If you have a crazy build they might need to start from square one.
