Smile Cam reccomendations and #'s

Ok.. Saved up, have a S&S 106" kit, and Rivera Primo Clutch with Tpp and Samson Caliber Powerflow II exhaust
http://www.samsonusa.com/C2-211.html
(got it for a steal off a web deal) paid $500
Ordered the 2 1/2" optional baffle, comes with a 2" baffle..
and has Kuriakyn Hi Five Mach 2 air cleaner
S&S ported heads
What cams do you reccomend and why, what kinds of #'s can I expect.
I have been looking at the S&S EZ start cams as would be nice not to have to install comp releases. The builder has recommended the 585 or 625 Ez start

I usually put 8k per year on this bike, riding 2up about 20% of the time and 80% solo.

Will the higher lift 625 be too much, too much valve train stress?

#'s with stock 96" stock heads, S&S 510 cams V&H true duals, Rush slip on's 1 3/4" baffles and SE air cleaner 86hp 98ft lbs

How much increase can i get, I'd like the curve to be from 2500 or 3k and up.
But as long asI'm making similar power down low to what I'm making now it's ok if curve moves higher in rpm band..

I've been think of the 583 cam as that cam seems to have the flattest torque curve, not looking for peak numbers and don't want the super high torque that the 551 builds down low..

With an S&S build, I'd go right to S&S with the questions
Describe to them your riding style, gearing/ rpm ranges and expectations

I'm running the ss 585 in my 107 build. My numbers are decent 106/117. The cam does come on around 3000 rpm and really likes 3500rpm. It's a good cam, but to me they don't come on quick and hard. I have this set up for over a year. If you like to keep your rpms up this is fine cam. Have you looked at the specs for the 583. There are alot of people who are happy with the woods 6 cam which would work in your case too.

I'll be running S&S ported heads through their exchange service, looking at online dyno curves and the last reccomendation, Woods 6HG looks like it might be a winner..

These runs are much stronger than the S&S site, but the S&S site only has syno runs with stock headpipes and their slip on mufflers rather than a good 2-1

Well from looking at your first post, it appears that you are doing the Glide which is a 96. Wood only made the 6HG for early models, I think it was replaced with the 7H. As for as S&S heads go, the outfit that ported my heads said that S&S is ok, but their flow numbers weren't all that. I can say I know of a S&S 106 running their heads and their 625 cams that is making 112 hp/ 118 tq. Haven't seen the graph so I don't know where the torque comes in. Have you looked at any of T-Mans stuff including his head work? Might be worth a look.

on the woods website they have a woods 6hg listed for 06 dyna and 07 up twin cam with gear drive, already have the s&s gear drive setup. Will be putting the s&s 106" kit on with the new exhaust and, cams, and airfilter all at once instead of doing it piece by piece like I did last time.

Well on the Wood's website under the New Knight Prowler, 06 Dyna Twin-Cam 07-11 All, Gear Drive Cams I see a TW-6G-7 which is a .510 lift, a TW-7HG-7 which is a .575 lift, but no TW-6HG. The TW-6HG was/is a .590 lift. Good torque cam, I ran one in a 95" RG. What you might consider is the TW-8G-7. I have a friend running that cam on a 95" making 118hp. It seems to be a smoking cam.

What kind of numbers did you make with that cam? I'm thinking about putting that in my 95" to replace my S&S510G cams.

Thanks
