Just installed a new cable yesterday. Didn't open the Derby cover, just replaced the cable. It was a real pain to get the new cable threads started in the clutch release cover (fought it for 1.5 hrs, and the wife got it right away!). Waiting until it's warmer to make final adjustment on new cable.

Yes its a pain getting the cable threaded into the cover without stripping it. No adjustment under the derby cover necessary.
For what its worth I cut an allen wrench down on the short side to fit the bottom bolt so I didn't have to drop the exhaust, only the heat shields.

I threaded the cable into the cover while the cover was still off.
There was a loose washer I found I think it goes on the end of the shaft that pulls the clutch in. Anyone know ?
