Great link. That is exactly what we did but with much better pics than I can take. We used a shorter piece of 2" pipe, about 18".

I took a 2 foot piece of 1 1/2 pipe and cut it down the middle. Streched it over the fork tube and that worked fine for me. I tapped the seal in with a rubber mallet. When I was done I threw the pipe away. Why would I keep a cut piece of PVC?

I think I'll look into the PVC solution. It sounds like a viable, cheap way to do this. Thanks for all your responses!

Here is what I use to do mine. I use a 1 1/2" PVC pipe split down the middle to seat the the seals. I also take the tubes off the bike and work with them in a vise. Best to use an impact to remove the 6mm allen bolt on the bottom of the fork leg, it can be tough to get loose. Good luck
