Default "Installing '10 RG fairing brackets, vented lowers, and CVO SG speaker boxes"

Well here are some pic's of my project, upgrading my 07 Road Glide to the 2010 Road Glide fairing mounts and adding HD vented lowers, 2011 SE Street Glide speaker boxes. The new fairing mounts raise the the fairing 7/8 of an inch and tilt the nose down 2 degrees. I have not rode the bike with the new mounts, but they say it is supposed to really help on wind buffeting. The lower upper fairing mounts that bolt to the engine guard are angled in to allow the vented lowers to now fit. Bought a pair of vented lowers from a forum member. Thanks to Carl for posting the speaker box part numbers, so I have them installed. The vented lowers I bought came off a FLHT, so I did have to cut the caps down about 3" where they would cover the crash bar. HD does make a shortened cap for the Road Glide.

58491-10
58492-10
You would have to add your paint code to the above part numbers to get color matched.

Here is a list of part numbers I used.

New fairing mounts.
58454-10 Mount, LH/Fairing Lower
58460-10 Mount, RH/Fairing Lower
58530-10 MTG BRACKET - Center main fairing bracket.

Lower Fairing Speaker Boxes.
57419-11 RH
57410-11 LH

And Like I said above, I bought a used set of vented lowers off a forum member. You can order the vented lowers color matched on some bike or get them in primmer. Zanottis or Lake Shore HD probably have the best prices on line.

I am using Infinity speakers, but HD has speakers and grills available.
HD 6.5" speaker ea., 77034-11 includes grille and screws (Thanks Carl)

Everything is pretty much mocked up and fitted. I still have to find some speaker grills I like. Time to take it all back apart and get the parts I need painted to the paint shop.

Great project; adding the '10 fairing brackets to install vented lowers with speaker boxes/6.5" speakers.

Hope you'll add more pictures as you go along, including how you wire the speakers in the vented lowers.

Here are some pic's of the 2010 upper fairing lower mounts installed. You can see how they are no longer straight and stepped inward now. Also you can see where I had to cut the lower fairing caps down.

I like it! I guess the part numbers you listed for the speaker boxes are only in the CVO parts book? Can't find them online. I added the lower fairing to my 2011 a couple months ago and would really like to put some speakers in there since I don't really need the storage.

No Problem. That is just the speaker boxes. If you want the HD speakers and grills you would need 2 of these also; 77034-11
