Default Cruise Contol

Been searching and went through my maintenance manual - Cannot seem to find an answer -

Got an 02 Ultra - Went on a trip, set the cruise - Stayed on for a few moments then shut off - Cruise indicator would light then off as normal - Tried it a couple different times - Sometimes it would stay on for 5 minutes, other times, a few seconds - Everything seems to work fine except it will self-disengage - Checked connections, all good and tight - Hope it's not the module but then again, the bike is 12 years old -

Anyway, thanks in advance for any suggestions and help -

Check your front brake leaver . It may not be activating the brake light switch.

check brake light switch.

turn on bike...stand behind it and have your pal whack the tires with a ball bat ( or jump up and down on the seat)...see if the light goes on.
if so, that would disengage the CC

Are you using a power commander tuner?

"adjusted front brakes" doesn't make any sense. There is no adjustment on front brakes[or rear for that matter]. Maybe they BLED the front brakes? If that front brake lever is the slightest bit worn or loose,it cold hit the switch and shut off the cc.

If the throttle or idle cable are out of adjustment it will kick the cruise off or cause it to not set at all. I would start with those.

If the switch gets weak, it can activate while riding, and thus de-activate the cruise.

I had an '07 that the front brake switch was weak, my buddy following said he didn't know when I was on the brakes as the brake light was constantly coming on at odd times...
