Default CB Problems 2006 Ultra Classic

Has anyone with a 2006 Utlra Classic had complaints from other Ultra owners about over modulating or ear pircing static when you talk on the CB? We have four 06 Ultra Classics in our group and we get complaints from people with 05 or 07 Ultras. Yet when they talk to us that have 06 Ultras they sound crystal clear. We have tried all settings and squelch adjustments to no avail. Thanks

Distortion can also be caused by the proximity of the transmitter and receiver. If they're too close together the transmitted signal will possibly overdrive the receiver. If someone hears a clear signal and the other doesn't, I'd say it's the reciever being overdriven, or getting distortion from another source. Try from a distance apart.

I have an '06 Ultra and had the same issue you are describing. What finally resolved my issue was a call from the local Harley Davidson Dealership Service manager to Harley Davidson Tech Services, specifically to XXXXXXX. XXXXXX sent a new CB module that resolved the issue. The module XXXXXXX sent had an update to the circuit board to address the CB transmit complaints.

Awesome thanks for your reply. What Dealership fixed this. It is worth us calling him, or having our local HD Service Manager call, since we have five 2006 Ultras in our HOG Chapter that are experiencing this same problem.

The dealership is Harley Davidson of Dallas, Phillip Bell is the Service Advisor I worked with (214) 495-0259, but a call to Harley Tech Services, XXXXXXXX, should be all you need.
