Default H.d. Oil temperature gauge dipstick

Does anyone here have experience with the HD dipstick temperture gauge dipstick? I read that the older ones had problems, but now supposedly they are improved. Does anyone have one, and what do you think?
Thank you.

I heard that there have been lots of issues with the Digital Oil Temperature gauges so I bought the Analog (Needle) style. No problems in over a year and 14K miles. Oh, I also checked it's accuracy against an electronic thermocouple that I have . . . amazing . . . it was spot on accurate.

I can't say if mine has a problem. I did check the oil level with my stock dipstick to make sure it's correct.

I had one for about 8 years on my Evo- my Pal gave it to me, because he had broken TWO!!! ( by removing incorrectly).

i used my superior intellect to make 1 good one out of the 2.

and it worked flawlessly and continues on that bike (which I sold last autumn)

with the new bike, I have the current version- about 5000 miles on it, works great for temp ( and is much simpler than putting a sensor in the pan and the gauge in the dash) and has added bonus of a rough idea of oil level.

Both of these have been spot on for temperature.

i usually put mine in "upside down" so i can reach down and hit the button, then glance down at the display...

dash gauge? aside from the expense, I don't need to stare at oil temp all day- I'd start to worry and imagine problems

POS
nothing more to be said than that.
If anything, get rid of the other POS that is the "air temp gauge" on the dash. Replace that with the dash oil temp gauge. The dash oil temp gauge actually works and can be seen while riding (which is when it matters).

This is the one I have on my 2004 Ultra, works great and no button to push.

I also have the transmission dipstick with a Marine Corps emblem on it, (what else )

Mine worked great, no issues with it. I have a dash temp oil gauge too and wanted to check it against the HD one to see if it was accurate and it was. I would buy one again.

I had the early version. It worked for almost 3 years, but I had to take it apart & clean the oil out of the screen twice. I now have the new version & it's been ok for about 4 months. I like the ability to compare the temp with my dash gauge, but really like being able to check oil level at the push of a button.
