I always get around 15,000 or so on regular old Dunlop rear tires mostly riding 2 up and good balance of highway miles

I weigh 270 lbs and have never expected too much, but this is good. My first Elite 3 got about 11,000 miles. These extra miles on the latest tire include a Stugis trip and road miles like that take very little off a tire....Changing the tire today (with another E-3).
My first two D402's lasted 10k each, and my first E3 was replaced at 20k. I ride only solo and have always tried to reduce rear-tire wear by braking only on the front except when necessary. To say that I was elated by the wear results is an understatement, and the E3's even handle better. My second E3 is now at 7k and it is wearing at about the same rate as the first. OTOH, my first front E3 which is on the bike now is wearing about the same as the original D402, which lasted 25k miles. I give the E3 two enthusiastic thumbs-up.

I think the important thing isn't the mileage one person gets, but the difference between the two tires on the same bike. I.e. the OP and I don't get the same tire mileage, but doubled it by switching to E3's.

Already getting lots of miles out of my tires but if i can get 15,000 or more out of the E 3's PLUS better handling i'm there as long as there's no production quality issues

Changed out my rear tire with a E-3 last spring got 16K on it last summer. Looked like it had some left, but didn't want to waste time once riding starts so relpaced front and back with E-3's. Happy with the ride and miles

I put my first E3 on in 2009 and put 14,500+ miles on a lot two up and pulling a trailer. I was tickled to death. I had never gotten over 5-7,000 on any rear tire I put on, and I tried several. The front installed the same time has over 18,000 on it and shows no wear to speak of. I replaced the rear with another E3 and will continue to use them. Love to ride, the way they handle rain, grooves, steel grating on bridges, etc.

On my 5th E3 rear and range from 12-14K, on my 3rd E3 front and get 20-22K (found the front to be no better than the 402 front from a wear point). However, 402K rear on 3 of them never got above 10K

E3's will be my next tires.

My indy has about 9k on his Electra Glide rear and for him, that's impressive. He claimed he was getting 5-6k with other rear tires.

FYI, I purchase my tires from Jake Wilson.com and cannot get the tire any cheaper from anywhere around me and most shops don't carry it.
TexasVet,

What size tire are you running on the rear? I can't find an MU85B16 E3.
