Default Passenger backrest extension?

I just bought a Mustang driver's backrest. It works fine with my Sundowner that I use when taking multi-day trips.

So here's the thing...I already am not crazy at how much the Sundowner moves me forward a bit and now with the backrest, I feel jammed-up maybe too much (the jury's out). But I ride 2-up on the long trips and my g/f, who is not a big girl (flat tummy) feels very cramped behind the driver's backrest...the chrome hinge rig on the back of the Mustang backrest can bump into her, if you know what I mean (don't say it).

Sooo - Have you ever seen anything that will allow for a slightly further back passenger backrest? Just an inch would do it. I have the 4-point mount and quick release HD backrest on there now. That way I could set the driver's backrest tilted back more and she would have enough wiggle room on the back.

Maybe I just need to get full Mustang seat setup but not sure that will fix the "real estate" issue...I would prob still feel cramped-up. Dunno what to do.

Had the same issue on my Sporty with the wife.

We took some of the padding out of the passenger backrest and it gave her an extra 1.5" of room.

There may be other ways...but that was a quick fix we did...took less than an hour and was free!

DK, thanks for the reply. I thought about that since ya'd not really want to go too far back with the entire backrest even if I could find a slightly longer mount as it'd create a gap in the rear (seat edge and bottom of backrest pad). I'll take a shot at removing some padding this weekend.

Now to just figure-out how to remove some of the "padding" around my belly!

Thanks...
