Default PSI for shocks

What PSI should I run in my air shocks. I just bought a shock pump, and checked the pressure, It was at 4 PSI. I looked in the owners manual and It lists 0-25 PSI depending on weight. The parts guy @ the dealership said most run between 22 and 25. I felt like I was bottoming out that's why I bought the pump

I ride solo and weigh in @ 240.

Thanks for the input.

I would try going to about 15 psi and riding for awhile. Pressure can be a real individual preference.

I think you'll want to be closer to 25 than 0.

I weigh 185 and I run 20 psi in mine. Just play with the pressure a bit and find out what feels good to you. 20-25 psi is a good starting point.

I was confused as well after checking the manual for my 2010 SG and they recommended probably 20-25. I am 5'10" and weigh in at about 180+/- and found that I was most comfortable at about 7psi solo. I found that to be the softest ride which is very important to me after 2 back surgeries for herniated discs
I guess air pressure is very much personal preference since I found as little as a pound or 2 makes quite a difference

Bicycle pump will not work. It needs the no loss schrader valve otherwise you will lose almost all the air you put in when you take it off, plus your standard bicycle pump will pump to much air into the system. It holds a very volume of air. I understand you can the same style pump as the HD pump from a bicycle store, some mountain bikes have the same requirements.

NO on the bike pump, these shocks are very pressure sensitive, 09 E.G., I run 18lbs solo, 230lb rider, 35lbs with wifey.
