so I have a torque wrench that only goes to 150 ft pounds so will need to use an extension.

Anyone else run into this?

I am hoping to use an extension bar on the handle side of the torque wrench versus on the wratchet side (as most pictures show).

requires a calculation to do....wondering how successful folks have been w/ this?

Torque values using an extender as comp bolt needs more torque then my wrench goes up to

The Compensator and the Clutch Hub need to be removed as an assembly.

If you don't remove the Clutch, the chain won't allow you to slide off the Compensator assembly.

Also, while you're in there, consider switching to the Baker Chain adjuster.

I wouldn't worry about it, my Torque wrench only went to 150 Ft Lbs also.

I just torqued to 150 ft lbs, and then pushed a little harder to guestimate. I've done three of these, never had an issue. Just remember to torque the T70 like it says in the manual. Initial torque 100 ft lbs, back off 1/2 turn, then go to 175 ft lbs.

Hmmm...have read of many not removing the clutch hub. Here he removes the tensioner and then pulls the chain, was hoping to do the same.

Not sold on the Baker. Had a HD OEM manual adjuster in my old 05, guess it made no sense to pay upwards of $200 for the same part touted as new and improved (?). Going to try the SOHO tensioner....

Thanks.

Thanks. In that video he unscrews the big hex comp nut (?)

What is the torque setting on that big hex nut he unscrews? I put a red arrow pointing to it in the attached pic. (not referring to the T70)

what is the torque setting on the big hex nut in this photo? (this is not my bike btw)

Zero. It's not threaded.
You may hold that to keep the whole assembly from spinning (not required) while you tighten the T70 but, there is no torque value for it.

Well, not sure which bike you have, but on my 2012 Touring model, pretty sure you can't get the Compensator Assembly off without removing the Clutch because there isn't enough slack in the chain. To be honest though, I've never tried so I guess I could be wrong. Manual does state though that the Compensator and Clutch Hub must be installed as an assembly.

What LP said, that is not threaded.

Thanks. Have seen vids of folks removing the comp w/out pulling clutch, hoping to do that. I'm pulling the tensioner and replacing it w/ SOHO hydro tensioner so hopefully that gives the slack I need.

If I pull the Clutch etc....I'd prob pull the whole inner primary and do a new IP bearing etc and update some seals. Or, save that adventure for when I need a belt! TBD....after I'm done will post update. (this in a 2008 Ultra, tho I may do on my 2012 eventually too). Thanks.
