did the 08 & newer front wheel swap on my 03 king
After much reading & research I put on 2013 street glide 18" front rim on my 03 road king. Went pretty smooth, I stayed with the 25mm axle and bearings instead of the 1" bearing swap and axle. What I did different from others is I did not have to swap out the left side abs bearing and use a non abs bearing, instead I figured out what size spacers to use and save few $ without having to do bearing swap. Not saying this is correct but I used 1" spacer on the non abs bearing and a 7/8 spacer for the left side with the abs bearing. Did 25 miles and all OK, do a longer road test tomorrow. & the local HD said I couldn't do this when I was in there buying parts today :-)

Got it back from the repairshop. Painfully expensive repairs. Everything decided at the same time it wanted replacement :-(
Two new whitewall tyres; new brakedisk an pads at the rear; as the wheel was out did replace the rear wheel bearings at the same time. Cam chain tensioners where inspected and actually needed no replacement. Then we found out the A-hole of a mechanic that replaced them last time left a small piece of gasket which had scratched the oilpump. So that needed replacement, cam chains had to much wear and needed chanching. Decided to do the tensioners now everything was beeing renewed.
So all in all I know what I've worked for :-)
At home gave it a serious clean up. Pearl white and a workshop don't match.
Now enjoying the free Easter days
