Default Police Bike Bag Inserts

For those with police bikes; what do you do with regard to inserts on the bags?

If you just plugged the holes; where did you get the plugs?

If you found inserts you like; where did you get the inserts? I'm looking for good insert ideas. Not looking to spend a ton of money, but don't want it to look like chit either. Saw a guy yesterday with some kind of cheap azz aluminum looking tin inserts. Took away from the whole look of the bike to me. I'd rather leave them empty and get some rubber plugs somewhere than have some half-assed garbage on my bags.

Let me know what you guys have done.

Have you looked on E-Bay? Try a google search for harley saddlebag inserts or something like that.

I used harley gas tank emblems off of a 60"s something Harley on mine. I Bought them on E-bay. They were new.

I bought the LED kit to fit in mine. Turn them on with the accessory switch. When they are off they are pretty dark and really aren't noticed. I think they were around 80 bucks or so.

I bought some polished billet inserts from a guy on eBay. His username is baggers_only, I believe. Nice parts, and not real expensive--around 85 bucks. They bolt right in through the holes that are already there in the bags (though as I recall, I had to redrill the holes to enlarge them a little to accommodate the bolts--but pretty easy). Also, if you want to replace the 'pucks', californiacustomparts (eBay name) sells a nice metal latch kit for 50 bucks. Latches are a whole other thing though... Good luck. Alan

P.S. If you do plug the holes, if you tap them with a few 'threads' this will help hold the filler in place versus just poking it into the 'smooth' holes. A painter told me this the other day.

I agree, Owens Options seems like one of the best values for machined inserts.

I took one of my bags in to the local vinyl sign shop, got some black and trimmed it to fit the recess, then had them print up my slogan. Total cost? $6.00. That's right, six bucks.
