Default Fuel Moto 107" and MPG's (it ain't what you think)

My '09 RG with it's 96" and Stage 1, (Jackpot Dyno tuned slip-ons) PCV and a canned map from Jamie was getting 40 to 41 MPG's with the cruise set on 70. Had Fuel Moto's 107" kit installed a few weeks ago along with Autotune, and managed to put some break in miles on it. (crappy weather be Damned !! ) However, today the weather in the Midwest was awesome, (low to mid 80's with very little wind to contend with) so a few of my friends and I took a little road trip from St. Louis down to "The Cave Restaurant and Resort". (Yes....it really is a restaurant in a cave!) Anywho, I checked the MPG's on the way down and back. (I was expecting to take a little hit in the fuel economy department) Going down, with a bit of a headwind, I got 40.19 MPG. Not too shabby....I can live with that. But, coming back I got 45.34 MPG !! Better fuel economy with a bigger, more powerful engine, and this was with the A/F numbers that Jamie has set up in the Autotune when he sends it to you. (which, to my understanding, are actually a little on the rich side) The best I ever got with the stock 96" was 47MPG's......once. Now I'm wondering if I should leave well enough alone or start playing with the A/F ratio a bit to see how much more I can squeeze out of it. Hmmmm.......decisions, decisions. Oh yeah, the bikes runs great, I couldn't be more happy!! Apparently you can have your cake and eat it, too!!!

remember, most harley speedometes are 3 to 5 % fast...so you are not going as fast as you think. you are probably running under the speed limit. that is still good m.p.g..

Sounds good. Here in the north country I have never seen better than 40 mpg and that was with the 96. This spring it's looking like less than 30 with the cooler air and 107. Tomorrow I'll know for sure. One thing for sure, it's hard to keep it at the speed limit.

That's great to hear! I'm getting the Woods TW-555 cam installed. Hope I will be happy with it.
