Default Hit by 4x4

Here I am, minding my own business, stopped at a stoplite on the way to work yesterday morning; and I get hit from behind by a 4x4 pick up that is lifted way too high!

Probably a blessing in disguise that this ********'s truck is too high, as he hit me square in the back rest - shoved me forward several feet . .
I didn't go down; but scared the **** out of me!

Minor damage - I didn't go down - but, how the hell can you not see an 800 pound bike and my 200 pound fat *** stopped in front of you in broad daylite?

I guess this moron was too busy talking on his cell phone or slapping his kids that weren't strapped in, in the front seat.

He's so busy telling me to stop swearing at him; as he has kids in the car; and, I'm telling his to shut the fu*k up as he's the one who hit me!

He doesn't have his insurance card - until I'm on the phone calling the police and suddenly his insurance card magically appears.

I was so shaken up that I didn't do all the right things one is supposed to do.

Get pictures; find a witness (or three or four); call the police; get his address -

I did get a name; phone number; driver's license number; license of his jacked up truck.

I've filed a police report; filed an accident report with his insurance company.

But, what the hell is wrong with people that they run into you in traffic while you're stopped!

I can almost understand an accident where someone runs a light or a stop sign or crosses a double yellow line ( I said, "almost" . . )
BUT, WHEN YOU'RE STOPPED?

Please tell your friends, and their friends, and their friend's friend's to PLEASE watch out for BIKERS!

That was pretty frightening.
I was lucky, and, I know it.

Had my "honey" been on the back of the bike, she would have taken all the impact in her back.

I must be living right.
Praise the lord, and bike gods everywhere.

Be careful out there!
Keep the shiny side up and watch out for dumbshits whether in 4x4's lifted way too high; or old ladies who can't see; or teen agers texting; and all the rest of the CAGERS who look right at you and don't see you!

Glad you are ok, understand your frustration. I had someone hit my car while it was parked, they left a note and as it turns out they had no insurance. I should have called the cops and had them come out.

Fortunately you're alive and able to ride again. These tragic events occur all too often when folks just aren't paying attention. Glad you're OK.

Glad your ok...

However..... Don't make it a lifted truck thing, it's a dumb driver thing. I have had lifted trucks all my life, the driver hit you not the truck.

People complaining about how much lift a truck can have ultimately leads to legislation preventing it.
Just like people complaing about loud pipes ultimately leads to legislation against them.

It's no different than people stereotyping "Bikers"

Once again, I am glad you are ok. You definately had someone watching out for ya!
