Default Oil cooler - 2011 model, 26155-11

I had this cooler installed when the dealer installed the 103 Stage II kit. This cooler has a thermostat. Does anyone know if it opens gradually or all at once? At what temperature does it open? I have the oil temperature gauge installed in the hole that originally had the air temperature gage. It usually stays right at 195 degrees. I would like to believe it but based on what everyone has reported, I would expect to see 225 to 240.

The thermostat opens at 185*F, and it does open all the way at that time. As far as the temp, just ride it more and see, since it sounds as though you had this gauge also installed and have no previous reference point.

That makes sense. (185) You are right, I had the gauge installed at the same time. I have ridden this set up for about 1,500 miles but no really hot weather and no stop and go traffic. My current thought is that this cooler is pretty efficient. I designed and manufactured coolers in previous lifetime so I am impressed.
