For the money, I'd buy another '07 FLHP (cop bike). You get the 103 cu in, 6 speed, ABS brakes if equipt and you can discretely trick one of these out without anyone really taking notice, as you can afford it, a little at a time during these long cold winters.
A real fun bike that will get hung on the wall of my garage one day. Couldn't bear to sell it.

Good luck with your choice!

EDIT: Dang it, didn't realize this thread was an old one. What did the OP finally decide on anyhow? Guess I'll have to read all 11 pages to find out.

I have always liked the looks of a Road King Custom. Last year for them was '07.
Factory lowered. Cast wheels. leather streamlined saddle bags. lowered windshield.
Given the year range and price you're looking for I would be looking to score one of those..

Correct. There are no cats in '09 except for California bikes. '10 is when they all got them.

I had no idea about a strike, I have an '07 FLHR same paint as yours and many small changes to make it my own classic.

I have had mine going on five years, runs good, handles good, is looking great.
The only thing I would want that the '09 has is the "cross under" exhaust. My left leg has cooked too many times sitting in traffic in Central Florida.

I'll ride mine into the ground with no regrets, then rebuild it and do it again.

Long live the King!
