It's called King for a reason. Any RK will be awesome. I love my 07 peace officer special edition. It is the smoothest bike I have ridden. It has Reinhart true duals, a HD Stage 1 intake and a tune and just with that it pulls the front wheel up and will spin up the rear tire with full on 2nd gear shifts. I even get 38mpg out of it.

The best ever is the 2014 for cornering, handling, tracking, acceleration, ride, tubeless spoke rims. The rest are only great bikes

Love my 98' FLHR. Have no desire to ever get rid of it.

I have to agree with you since mine is a clone of yours. Except I have the cast wheels and bag guards. Mine too has been a great ride and barring a write-off I will never part with it.

Love my '96 evo.

50k+ and purs like a kitten even with the MM fuel injection. (knock on wood).

Running a Baker DD6 and lets those 80" relax on the highway.

When it comes to a Road King does it really matter what vintage it is?

No matter what year you chose you will be happy

I think there has been steady progression and evolution equivalant to the price as the years increase. Pick your price range and you will find the best bike for you. You will see the price varies as when the engine changed, ABS, new frame etc....

I have not see a "do not buy this year road king post ever". Probably no bad RK just a few bad owners though if you are buying used.

I bought my new 2013 as I could afford it and I wanted the newest bike I could swing and it happened to be new. I would have been happy with any year with low miles.
