Default Fork Oil Change

I'd like to change the fork oil myself as I do with the other fluids but needing to remove the forks to do it strikes me as crazy and beyond my pay grade. Why the heck isn't there a drain plug or screw at the bottom backside of each fork tube? Could I use a pump of some sort to get the oil out?

Thanks,

VR

Look at the service manual if you want to see a project. I let them do it. Was out of my ability. But I will say I have no more dive with the se heavy fluid. I like it.

There's a drain screw? Amazing. I'm 500 miles away from bike now but I'll be home next week and will surely make that the first thing I look for. I read the write-up by Icklick and it does seem possible.

Thanks,

if you have access to a hand/hammer driven impact with a #3 phillips tip may make getting the drain screws out easier cause they are tight!

Just did the change on my '09. Straight forward. The drain screws on my fork legs came out real easy, almost too easy. Hardest part was when the ignition base stumped me. Bike rides much nicer. Used Maxima 15w fork oil.
