Default Increased oil capacity with external oil cooler?

I added an HD premium oil cooler to my 06 RKC last summer. I was just doing my fluid changes (I do mine in the spring) . I ended up with about 4 quarts to bring the stick up to full when hot. (manusl of course says 3 and a half) I have to assume that some oil remains in the cooler after shut off, otherwise, the extra oil would drain down to the crank and show over full. Do you guys with and oil cooler find that that the oil capacity increased with the addition of a cooler? I'm a bit confused here.....

I've got a low mount Jaag so the hoses are short. I doubt if it's even a half quart additional.

When I installed my HD oil cooler I thought it would hold 1/3 quart so I added and overcompensated that had to drain back to correct height on the stick. Unfortunately I didn't measure the extra but I reckon it's certainly less than a 1/3rd-- maybe less than a 1/4 quart even....

Yes, it holds more.. Maybe a pint.. But it stays in there while you changing the oil.. I have the HD oil cooler and it sits low so the oil doesn't flow into the oil pan.. Some guys use the extra quart oil change method ( google it ).

Your oil capacity will increase the same as the total volume of the heat exchanger core, connecting lines, and adapter. The increase is negligeable, not much to be concerned about. If your worried about the dirty oil in the cooler, pull the lower hose and drain as much as you can at changes.

I have the HD Cooler, and when changing the oil I refill with 3qts & 20oz. Level is just below (1/8in) of the full mark when hot.
