Default Squeak when I let off throttle. Road King

I have a "new to me" 2003 Road kind that is the most fantastic bike I have ever ridden. The guy that owned it before me is 72 and **** about about maintenance. I he showed me the primary drive fluid, gear case oil and synthetic motor oil he just replaced. As well as the tube of belt lube he applied last month, everything seems perfect except, while cruising along when I chop the throttle i hear a squeak. Just a short squeak, not metal to metal just like dog chew toy squeak. sounds like its coming from in front but hard to tell. Its got 19K miles on it, any insight would be great. A friend that works on Harley's say it may be the belt tension, that some times causes a squeak.

Any experience here would be appreciated

Thanks

I agree with your friend.I would check the belt tension and question why belt lube was applied.
I have always ran my belts dry with no issues.

I would say the belt is too loose.

Tighten belt per specs, problem solved.
Throw away belt lube. (It can sometimes make the squeaking worse.)

Hmm, My Streetglide just started doing the same thing. Sounds like it is coming from the front of the bike.

No question, definitely a loose belt, aggravated the problem applying the belt dressing

Use Harley's pro lube on your belt. It will take care of your problem.

So the belt tension was definitley the problem it was over and inch and the manual calls for 3/8ths. I did have a hard time tightening the crown nut on the right side as it kept wanting to move the cam as I tightened it. The service manual call for 100ftlbs or torque, I could not get close to that while holding the cam with channel locks. Any advice. I did ride it after an the squeak was gone, I'm just a little worried about the torque on the crown nut.
