How did you mount the XM radio part to the bars and what model XM radio is it

I installed a Sirius Starmate 6 on my bike last week. Wired an adapter plug to the spare powered line to the headlight and put the antenna on top of the radio. I get great reception. Have yet to lose the signal. I'm in eastern Canada. Time will tell if I have to move the antenna. Want to keep it hidden if possible.

Sirius Starmate mounted in the center pouch of my windshield tri pouch and the antenna sitting on top of the stereo in the fairing. Wired the output from the sat radio into a unit that plugs inline with the radio antenna so that when its on it direct feeds to the stereo. Rode all last summer with it like this.
Live in the Ottawa Ontario area and traveled down to Kentucky and Tennessee and no issue with signal at all. Only issue that I had with the setup was the original base that I had for the sat radio didn't secure the radio to it except with the electrical connection and they came loose. Replaced the radio and the base with one that had the notches in the back to lock them together ... works great.

I used a kit from tss-radio to install my Sirius Satelite radio. It mounts the antenna right next to the radio. They call it their Professional Motorcycle Install Kit SIRPMK1. It's not always in stock but was worth the wait to me. I also used the unit that plugs inline with the radio antenna so that when its on it direct feeds to the stereo.

On my EGC (I have fairing mounted mirrors like the SG), I used the
TechMount Harley Mirror Mount Part number 44020126
http://psndealer.com/dealersite/imag.../4402-0126.jpg

and for the antenna I used:
TechMount XM-AB Bracket Part Number 44020162

I just mounted the antenna bracket to the back of the mirror mount.

I also used the short antenna from tss

I have the xm radio. I have mine mounted on the handle bar with a clamp from myradiostore.com. I switch it out between my car and my bike so I use the cigarette lighter for power and just stick the antenna on the ignition switch.
