07 Road King Classic, Bike starts right up, after riding shut bike down, then go to restart wants to crank slow. Is this a battery problem or heat issue? Battery is always on a battery tender . Thanks Pesscomp
I've noticed mine doing the same thing. Getting a new battery when the green stuff collects. That battery might just be 5 years old to us, but how long ago did Harley receive it before it finally got installed in our scooters?
5 years on a battery is pushing it. Get it replaced before you get stranded. Happened to me at the 5 year mark and I got stuck about 50 miles from home. No warning signs at all. Just went to hit the starter button and it cranked about 1/2 a turn and then it was dead.
Week compensator so it's winding up and kicking back causing damage to your starter, hence, the slow cranking. I replaced my starter, changed out the compensator to the SE compensator. No more slow cranking.

Had this happen to me today on my 2010 ultra. Drove about an hour shut it off, would't start. Had it towed to the Harley shop and dropped off. Should find out tomorrow what the problem is. Seems to soon for the battery to be bad. any ideas? thanks Marvin

Original HD battery in my 01 T-Sport, charged it every spring before first ride. Other than that, never a problem. 11 yrs +. I know I'm pushing it.
