Default 2009 downtube diameter

Decided to remove my engine guard and put on frame mounted highway pegs on my 09 streetglide. Already had the pegs, ordered the right angle offsets, extensions, and a set of 1 1/2 quickclamps (because the 1 1/4 clamps from my engine guard were too small for the frame) Got my shiny new toys in and WTF...The 1 1/2 inch clamps are too big! Should have double checked I guess but now I go online and see kuryakyn also has 1.35 in clamps. Ordered these now so I have to wait another week to mount them. Hope they are the right ones this time. Anyone know for sure if the frame downtube is 1.35 on 09 streetglide?

2009 Touring frame downtubes are 1 3/8" (1.375").

Default Thanks

Thanks for both replies. The first was extremely helpful.
The 2nd not much help at all. I did in fact measure and used a method found online by one of the vendors of these who recommended you wrap a dollar bill around the tube, mark it where it met and then gave dimensions based on length of the mark on the bill. Sounded simple enough just didn't work. Turns out they were wrong and they only offer clamps in 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 anyway and claim that 1.5 will fit the streetglide. It was a mistake. I'll eat the mistake or sell em on ebay and be happy when my Kury's come in.

Wrapping something around the tubing and then unrolling and measuring will give you circumference. You need the diameter... Use a Micrometer if you have one or as someone else said use a adjustable wrench then measure the opening. You can probably even use a tape measure... Pretty simple really...
