Default ufo hit my bike - emergency stop

driving down the road and a car came flying up my left side. he hit a pot hole and his hub cap shot into the side of my bike. then I heard a dragging noise. Pulled over and noticed the kick stand spring disconnected. Tied the kick stand up with one hand while holding the bike with the other. Got home and was able to re secure the kick stand spring.

That sucks. Glad it was only the spring and not you skidding down the road. He seem to even have an idea?

You're very lucky.
About 30 or so years ago, I was following a friend. His bike kicked up a piece of metal in the road. It came back and broke my mirror and hit me in the left hand. Blood everywhere.
Rode straight to the nearest emergency room. Eight stitches in my hand.
I never ride without gloves after that.

Good to hand clean your bike from stem to stern once in a while to see if anything is loose.

Got you all beat, was on a 4 lane divided highway, doing about 85 and just changed lanes to pass a triple axle dump truck. He kicked up a full sheet of plywood, luckly it didn't stay with the flat edge towards me but it stood right up. Go left guard rail, go right dump truck, go straight plywood sheet. Luckily the sheet of plywood flew up where I was looking at the whole sheet and it kept rising, I got as low as I could and hit it with my handle bars and it skipped off the top of my helmet. Knocked the front brake line loose at the master cylinder. I stopped and tightened it up and rode her home.

I never get close or follow behind 18 wheelers because dodging shredding rubber going 70 mph will tighten your sphincter muscle for at least 2 days after. Learned this the hard way of course!
