Default How do I go from Heel-Toe to just Toe shifter?

Hey how do I go about changing the gear shifter from heel-toe to just a toe shifter? Parts that I need to buy and whatever else.
Thanks

If you look on the bottom of the shifter assembly, you will see a small (allen) set screw. Loosen the set screw and the heel portion of the shifter assembly will slide off.
Harley makes a cap to cover the exposed spline. It took longer to write this than to complete your project.

When you remove the heel shifter you have two options for the toe shifter positioin. When I removed my heel shfiter I installed a heel shift lever eliminator
http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/71/...ver-Eliminator similar to this one that way I get a little more room for shifting.
Or you can get the type that mllgator describe to cover the end of the spline.

Note that the spline is notched so you will have to back the set screw out a bit. Simply loosening it up will not be enough.

I wouldn't do it. I kept my front shifter adjusted to be able to use it as a regular shifter. I replaced the rear shifter with a long one from Walter's Workshop. I adjusted the rear arm so it is low, up shifts are about even with the floor board. I usually only use the front shift arm for up and down shifts especially if I'm wearing casual shoes, but if I have some big boots, I can still heel shift if I need. I got big feet and it works good for me. My not serve your purpose but something to think about.

Here's a pic of what I got. As you can see, the rear shifter is well out of the way if you don't want to use it. But if you have big feet and boots, it's there for you pleasure.

and my usual comment: If you remove your heel shifter, carry it in one of your saddle bags.
When your (or a riding partners) toe shifter splines strip out, you can use the 'heel' shifter as a spare.

Been there...done that.

is it a set screw now or a bolt all the way to a threaded split on the shifter

If you give it few hundred miles, you'll never want to remove the heel shifter.
