I'm partial to the E3, rates pretty high in all the major categories; wear, traction, handling, value. Only downfall for some is no whitewalls.

For the rear I've had the stock Dunlop, Metzler ME880, and now a Dunlop Elite 3 (E3).

The stock Dunlop was garbage, the Metzler was a huge improvement. It's a softer compound so it sticks very well both dry and wet and has decent life at about 8-10K miles depending upon your wrist. I've found the E3 to be equally as good as the Metzler, yet it's wearing slower (harder compound) so its definately going to last longer than either the stock or the Metzler.

I'm loving the E3 and will buy another after this one wears out, but you can't go wrong with the Metzler either in my opinion.

Regards,
JB

Used the Metzeler ME880's for quite a few years. No issues to complain about other than the rear tire mileage wasn't any better than the stock Dunlops.

Just switched over to a set of Elite IIIs a few weeks ago. Jury is out. Handlig seems better. Doesnt tend to follow tar-snakes. Don't know about wet weather performance but I'll be finding out this weekend I think.
