I think the OP is trying to find out at what point he should stop turning the bars and start leaning in a turn.

Somehow, I'm pretty sure he'll figure it out on his own...

Don't know about you, but I've not even tried to turn the bars after moving over about 5mph...not sure I even could at highway speeds.

It kicks in when you lean to the right and turn the bars to the left or vice versa

Not sure of the exact speed where counter steering becomes necessary but it is less than what the OP thinks. Even bicycles respond to it.

at what speed? it would be at the speed when you push with your right hand and the bike goes right and vice versa. thats the speed, and I never pay attention to the speed but I would bet it's around 10 ish or 15ish.


what's your point, keep going the wrong direction in the parkin lots?

I don't counter steer below 85 on my Road King per the manual.

6.423 MPH

Unless you have a tail wind. Then it's 6.517 MPH

Interesting fact...in the southern hemisphere you need to ride you motorcycle in reverse to get any counter steering effect at all.

I'm serious. I've tried it.
