What is the best way to lower a street glide
#11
I've seen pictures of one bike with the 3" seat drop kit installed. The way it looked if you need that much drop to flat foot the bike and you can comfortably reach the bars with the kit installed, you probably skin your knuckles up walking down the street.

I'm 5'8 and just purchased a 2011 Ultra Classic. Even with boots on I was on the ***** of my feet. Just bought the super reduced reach seat last Sunday and it makes a world of difference. I am 1.5" closer to the controls and at least an inch lower.
Feet are firmly on the ground and stopping is much easier (mostly a confidence thing I'm sure) and she doesn't feel as top heavy either. Definitely recommend trying that first. $300 and easy to install.

I test rode a used RG with the FBI kit and thought it was very uncomfortable.
I have always been against lowering blocks but decided to put some on the back of my SG just as a temporary solution. Now that I have had them on awhile I have no plans to take them off. I only lowered the back 1 inch and didnt notice any difference in handling. Only notice a difference in the ride and really harsh bumps.
