Default S & S Sidewinder

Tried looking through the other threads and didn't see an answer.

Does anyone know for sure if the 50 State compliant version of this pipe retains the HD Factory warranty as long as the screamin eagle tuner is used?

Really the tuner is the key thing so you should be good.

50 state compliant does as it retains the Cat. And with the use of the SEPST you're good. Like was said. The tuner is key. But they can flag you if you remove the cat. I have the "Race Only" version. Love this pipe.

This was my line of thinking too. I know the tuner is an absolute because it flags the vin in Digital Tech. But I had also been told they will manually void if it's out of EPA standards, which removing the Cat certainly does.

Up until recently I didn't realize they had a 50 State compliant 2 into 1 so now this has my wheels truning because I'd like to go that way but (for better or worse) my warranty is important to me.

What year is your bike?

I was told that H-D does not yet have the maps for their tuner for the 2021+ models…

I was planning to put an S&S Pro Pipe on my new Low Rider ST when it comes in, and use the HD Screaming Eagle tuner to keep the warranty - but the HD Service people told me that that’s not possible yet, as there are no maps yet for the 2021+ models…

They also told me you can’t put a non CARB compliant part on a California bike, even with an HD Tuner, as the California bikes will not allow a non CARB tune. Sounded fishy to me but who knows.

Mine is a 2022, but I'm just future planning for now so in theory all will be well by the time I get ready to pull the trigger.

Me too. But check with your service people first before you buy everything.

Below is from the H-D website about their tuner

For use with ’17-later XG, ’14-later XL and ’07-’17 Dyna®, and ’07-later Softail and Touring and ’17-later Trike models. Requires separate purchase of model-specific Tuner Cable. Does not fit California ’21-later models. Refer to H-D.com/shop for status.”

Notice the “Does not fit California ‘21-later models”. So even with CARB compliant exhaust, it says it wont work.
