If you have a 30" inseam you should be fine stock. I have a 30" inseam and have an 09 Ultra with the now standard "low"seat. The bike your looking at I
s already lower than the ultra and the seat is lower.
the '09 and up touring bikes are a bit wide but you can have the seat modified at mean city cycles for about $100 plus shipping. The seat will be a lot more comfortable too. Check them out at www.meancitycycles.com

I have been through the seat, legend air ride, and handlebar route on all 3 of my past Baggers. I now have a 09 FLHX with the FBI Drop Seat Kit, custom Corbin Seat, and a custom set of bars. The bike fits me like a glove. My taller friends like it too because of the riding stance. There are many options and combination of parts that will provide you with solutions from not too much $ to a lot $.

Going to a lower shock on a Street Glide will leave you with only 1" of rear suspension travel. Not only will the ride suck, but the front/rear geometry will be off, and your lean angle will be severely compromised.

Look for a lower seat and taller boots.

Default You're not short........

......you're vertically challenged.
Whatever you end up doing, I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride.

Why do people think you have to be able to flat foot a bike to ride it? Have they never ridden dirt bikes, dual sports, or sport touring bikes? I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam also, I would never give up cornering clearance just to be able to flat foot while stopped.

Not giving up cornering clearance , not screwing with front/rear geometry is why buying a lower seat or having in modified is best . i am 5'7" 29" inseam . it coast me only $100 plus shipping to have MeanCity lower and narrow the nose on my stock seat . i can flat foot it now .

Don't know why so many people say a lowered bagger or SG rides like crap...I went from a FLHR to a FLHX and I don't notice a significant difference, other than I am lower to the ground. I think they both ride nice.

Default Flat Foot..

Because dirt bikes weigh 250lbs. Harley's weigh 850lbs. And relatively new riders don't always come to slow, comfortable stops on big *** bikes..

Buy a pair of HD boots or other boots with a thick sole. I went from tippy toes wearing tennies to the ***** of my feet with the boots and I havn't had any troubles at all.

Try the boots!!! Cheapest solution. Look a the Road Glide Custom too.

I had a similar problem. I bought the reach seat and it fixed the problem fine for me, but my wife HATED the seat and I had to keep looking. I got a pair of Red Wing boots with a larger heel and it completely solved the problem. Of course these are now the only footwear I can ride with, but what the heck. Wife is happy and I can flat foot the bike at a stop.
