Can't Decide on a Bike, Harley or Victory
http://www.hdforums.com/forum/tourin...r-victory.html
ISSUE
Can’t decide between an Harley Davidson Road Glide vs a Victory Cross Country bike. This thread is asking the forum for opinions and discussion about the differences between the two bikes.
While both bikes are good bikes for Cross Country trips, the main issue with Victory bikes is it being hard to find a dealer for servicing.

Currently i have an 06 Deluxe but recently been on the road alot with it, doing rides for dad/CF/etc. But recently ive been tasked to go teach out in wainwright alberta. Im military and instead of driving my truck out there with my kit, i usually just send it with a buddy or military ships it and i ride out with the essentials.
well, i love my bike, I wont be selling it anytime soon, but im wanting a touring bike mainly for the cross country taskings.
What im having a problem is which model
Right now i can't decide between a Road Glide or a victory Cross Country.
Im not wanting the big upper bags, just the two fiberglass side ones, so the Road glide ultra is out.
but has anyone ridden or owned or know someone with a victory bike?

well, asking on this forum is going to get you an obvious answer from most..
But the best thing, IMO, is to ride them both and take a good, long look at the engines and fit and finish. make a list of what matters most to you and see which bike fits closest.
I've ridden a victory cross country and some things I liked a lot, some things I wasn't crazy about. Never rode a HD road Glide though.
I'm a little biased though, as I love my Iron 883, but I am not into getting a bigger HD engine than maybe a 1200 evo. I would pick the victory. I think that their bigger engines are more refined, run cooler, and will be more dependable than the bigger HD engines. But I can't back that up, as I don't own either one. But again, ride them both if you can. If you can't, look at some hard facts and specs and make your decision based on your priorities.
I don't think I helped you at all, I'm sorry...

You should ask Schumacher - he has only nice things to say about his Vic, which is for sale...

Point #1: You are in the military, and will be deployed at several different places. I would be concerned about a Victory dealer near you.
HD dealers and independent shops are everywhere.
I guess I only have one point. Both are sweet bikes. You will not need a seat or handlebar swap with the Victory.

I know what my answer is, but you should go try them both our if they're both up for serious consideration.
