Default Is this a lot of fuze ?

Is this a lot of fuze for the tranny plug? It seems so to me, and I think the silver color is remarkable too. If the picture doesn’t show it clearly it is the color of bright aluminum but, of course can’t be because it was stuck to the magnet. The picture of the material still on the plug was in a shadow - the silvery color is best represented in the second pict where I rubbed it off on my daughter's ex-husband's long underwear

Here is a little history;

total milage is 25k, all fluids were changed 3k miles ago

It has been increasingly more difficult to find neutral despite adjusting the clutch multiple times from all the way to a full turn to everything in between.

The primary drain plug had a normal amount of debris on it and the crank plug had almost none.

If you are adjusting your clutch alot, I would suggest that your clutch throwout bearing is bad. It is located under the right side transmission cover. Get a gasket and oil and check it out. The part is fairly cheap if you want to buy it when you get the gasket and change it anyway. Good luck! I hope that is thread tape on the plug and not aluminum thread from the tranny. If it is tape, it is unneccesary as the o-ring will do the trick.

Thanks for the responses guys - few more questions.

I took a look in my SM and see the throw out bearing. Once you take the cover off is it under one of the two bolts with the ball bearings around them?

If it is instead the main shaft bearing isn’t that accessed from the primary side? Wouldn’t the debris be on the primary drain plug not the tranny drain plug?

By the other side you mean farthest away from the tranny side cover, right.

If the trany was the only think sitting on your table it would be the bearing that supports the shaft that the drive sprocket for the drive belt is mounted to. Yea run on sentanse I know

If you look at the pic you supplied, the throw out bearing and oil slinger will be sitting in the center of that left hand shaft. The chrome cover with the clutch cable screwed into is all you need to disassemble. Don't take those 8 bolts out until you determine that the problem is inside the tranny. When the throw out brg. goes bad, it washes down into the sump and collects on the drain plug magnet.
