Frame paint scuffed/poor design
I just purchased a 2011 police roadking in black. The bike only had 2 miles on her and was never issued to a department. I was giving it a good detail the other day and noticed that the clutch cable is tie strapped to the frame from the factory. Well plastic tie straps, vibration and black paint don't normally mix well together. Of course its all scuffed to hell. That's a real crappy design, I'm sure they could have designed something better then a tie strap to secure the clutch cable to the frame.
I'm just bitching here and I should know better to really eye-ball the bike close up because you well always find something, now your eye will seem to always wander to the buggered spot..... I looked another king in the showroom and sure enough the cable is tie strapped also. I'm done bitching now to the scuffed tank from my jeans.....

After you look it over more closely you'll realize half the damn bike is put together with zip ties...its just the HD way of doing things a little quicker and a little cheaper...a penny here, and another penny there...it all adds up to keeping their bottom line as low as they can.
They figure they'll get more money out of you buying all those trinkets and doo-dads and add-ons.

The clamp is a great idea but too late.......If I would have thought about it before I took delivery I would have gone for it but the damage is already done. Plus looking all over the frame there are zip ties everywhere damaging the paint......Once work slows down and I start riding more and the rock chips start appearing, I guess the scuffed frame won't bother me as much...Just can't believe on such a pricey bike Harley would use zip ties on freaking everything.....crap I say
