Default inner primary bearing removal tool - recommendations?

getting ready for a primary rebuild and 103 upgrade on my 07. Only thing left that is needed is a tool to pull the inner primary bearing. Any recommendations?

georges garage makes a good one at a reasonable price. Jims makes a better one at a much more expensive price, its mostly for the pros who do it all the time, georges will work just fine for your occasional trips to primary land

Better yet, just get a chrome inner primary which has the bearing and seal already installed. Can get it for about $200 or so from one of the 20% discount dealers, like lshd1.com.

thanks, but chrome doesn't do anything for me. I have two primary cases. One has 11K miles, the other is a new take off with ?K miles. I want to replace the bearing on one of the two covers. I could chisel cut it out, but if there is an 89 dollar tool out there somewhere, I'd rather go that route.

Fabricate one using a socket, a bottle jack and some jigging rigged up under your car frame.

do you want to remove the race for the brg or the brg itself? the brg will press out take the snap ring out and just either press it out with a socket or even whack it with a hammer (THE SOCKET!) supporting the case around it brg. they're not in tight, I thought you wanted to take off the race

I bought an 80 dollar tool that will take care of the race. the bearing is the only tool need right now. I've removed bearings and installed them in the past using the hack cut method and the wack method , but since the inner primary has a failure rate of about 15K, a tool might be a good way to go. but it sounds like everyone is just wacking it out, then freezing the new bearing and heating up the primary case.
