Default 2011 CVO Road Glide Garage door opener

Does the 2011 CVO Road Glide ultra come with the garage door opener installed?

Yes it does. The transmitter comes pre installed in the fairing. The receiver comes in a box with the other stuff. Just plug it in and connect the wires to your garage door unit.

Thanks a friend bought one with a 1000 miles on it and we are having trouble making it work. I suspect the transmitter in the fairing is not working.

That's surely possible but probably not the most likely reason. I assume he went through the set up procedure so the receiver will recognize the transmitter when you cycle the head light switch? It took me a couple attempts to get mine working. Secondly, the instructions say to mount the receiver away (can't remember how far) from the garage door units antenna. Unfortunately that can be a pain as many garage door units have an electrical outlet right next to them. Makes it convenient to just plug the receiver in and connect the wires. The problem is your range will be horrible if you go that route. Believe me, been there done that. It should still work but your effective range will drop to maybe 40' as opposed 100' or so.
