This was the reply I got: "Generally the VIED's want settings around the 25% rich area once the converter is removed. This is actually to compensate for reversion bringing fresh air to the sensors (which is seen as a lean mixture and actually adds some fuel), so the VIED needs to be 'turned down' some to compensate. The net effect is you are still running (and adjusting) to get the ECM to run in closed loop at 14.0:1, but you have to back off on the VIED settings to stabilize the voltage readings with the lower settings because of the fresh air that can get to the O2 sensors with the converter removed" So apparently removing the cat actually makes the bike run richer not leaner as most people believe. They also recommend the FL-XIED-10TFF or running 25% on the VIED if you keep the cat in but change to slip-ons with larger then a 1.75" baffle.
this is exactly correct. i have been running the FL-VIED-10 for two years and playing with them some. i have no baffles and no cat, and when i remove my cat i turned them down some.

I am running SE intake, catless and no baffles on my 2012 RKC. I set them to 50% and the bike was under performing, felt flat. I set them to 75% and it runs awesome but maybe on the rich side. I am not sure about setting the to 25% but I may try it for comparison.

I have the VIED-10's on my SG with a gutted cat and Rinehart 4" slipons and stock A/F. Set them at 50% and no problems. I'm confused why some change the percentage dial. Is it because of different exhaust set ups or better MPG?

I've been set on 37.5% and may click it down to 25%. Bikes running great, a little reversion going on, but gas mileage has improved tremendously. 25% should do it.

i've been running mine at %50 and it runs good, but i could turn them down a bit because i do get alittle popping in the exhaust once in awhile.

Ok Im am completely new to all this and have read until my eyes bled! I have a PV on another bike and can use it on the new bike. So if i am going to use a PV i should not need the Xied or Vied, correct? The PV will not only tune but accomplish what these do also? Sorry guys all this stuff is like learning a new language!

Correct. The PV will eliminate any need for the xIED's. Along with a proper tune, of course.
